“It can save your child.”

Bullying can happen to anyone at any time. No one is bully proof. Here is a testimonial from a parent in the San Clemente community whose son had to deal with a bully recently over Spring Break. Her son is a member of Gracie Barra San Clemente and she also had her son take the Gracie Barra Anti-Bully seminars in San Clemente. We are keeping the story anonymous out of respect for the child and family.

Recently our child was confronted by a bully who was eager to fight. Our son defused the situation without any harm coming to himself or the other child. He did this with the skills he’s learned by taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He’s taken Jiu Jitsu for a few years now & has developed a good skill set; however, we believe that the anti-bully classes he’s taken in conjuction with his regular training, has further prepared him for the very situation that came his way. Performing what he had been taught saved him from a potentially dangerous confrontation & hopefully taught the other child a valuable lesson in a way that only Jiu Jitsu can do, without any harm. If you haven’t looked into Jiu Jitsu for your child, then do! And at the very least, find a Gracie Barra school near you & have them take an anti-bullying seminar. It’s a 4 week session & it’s free but most importantly, it can save your child. Just ask yourself if your child was confronted today by a bully, would they know what to do? Are they prepared? We know our child was & we can’t thank the Gracie Barra team enough for these valuable lessons.

The Anti-Bullying seminars are continuing all month on each Saturday at 9am. They are free for any child in the community.
