The so-dreaded carbohydrate consumption became a legend, and now we all know about the importance of having a balanced diet based on carbohydrates, proteins and good fats. Carbohydrates are our energy source, the essential fuel for our body to function well and to help us to perform our day-to-day routine.


Cutting 100% carbohydrates off your diet can be detrimental not only for your health but also for your well-being. The carbohydrates you should avoid are known as simple carbohydrates. What makes these the bad ones is the speed at which they are digested by the body. This type of carbohydrate is digested quickly, and this leads to a not so good effect on our blood insulin levels.
